Couldn't care less!

I don’t want people to be too agreeable since it saves me from liking them a great deal. The friendlier the conversation, higher is the probability that they assume rights in your life.
I shop since it works greatly as an anti-depressant for me, I love to indulge & therefore eat, and I like to catch up a movie after a hard day at work! I often dress up since I’m happier more often unlike them.
So why equate “I” to “They”? They are the self proclaimed segment of genius, intelligent, sensitive & liberated. They endorse the concept of “individual spaces” in a relationship. They also support equality of rights & social causes.
But every time I meet them, I cannot help but wonder of their reduced thinking, the insignificant attention & their hollow concern.
Advices in abundance, compliance none!
I realize that I have grown up with them. One among many but denied being one. They always sought attention to their actions; they also carried an opinion on everything and at times sounded fundamentals, their concern demonstrated best in their shallow words of wisdom. They have always been there.

HULLABALOO

I had one of the most harrowing experiences of a lifetime yesterday. It was all about commotion, chaos, clutter, disorder, uproar & panic. While the city was setting up celebrations for Diwali, the leaders of the nation conspired against. We left office early to shop for Diwali. Streets were thronging with thousands buying & selling knick-knacks for the occasion. The rains too couldn’t dampen their spirits of festivity. Knee deep waters & the city suddenly seemed paralyzed not knowing how to wade through the waters & reach homes. Braving rains was an attitude and never a dampener. It were leaders of various political parties & cadres of thousands who needed to demonstrate their support for the Sri Lankan Tamils & to press for India’s intervention to stop the military offensive against the Tamils. What did I do? I was dealing with emptiness within. Not a nice feeling. But what else could I do? There was no reason I could find for feeling like I did. You ask about the feeling - sadness welling up inside that makes you feel sick like you want to throw up, a little empty, makes your face go really warm and feet really cold. I struggled to sleep too. I still do not know why I was made to feel that  way. I chose to deal with the emptiness therefore. Some days are hard, to even get up and fix a cup of coffee. The mind is not quiet. Only if it were calm to let good thoughts trickle in. Some days you shouldn't reason. Must let things be. Thank God for a good heart that knows no wrong, in its matters !
