Strike the balance

I was quick enough to grab a cereal bar from the pharmacy & rushed in to the office. The ritual of having breakfast before I leave for work made me buy the bar but my appetite kept refusing. Morning sickness - I hope not.
I had truck load tasks at hand and I knew that the Orkut alerts have to wait.
Wading through countless emails & responding to them carefully such that I donot sound rushed up, screening every letter and its case, my fingers were deftly playing on the laptop when a sudden pat looked up for notice.
Ah! My good old folks were here and wanted me to join them for tea-break. The atrium will be crowded usually during this time. Most of them would throng around for a verbal account from the horse's mouth. How do I evade these advances? Well, it follows the norm especially when you are back from a 3week honeymoon vacation.
Inundated with calls mostly congratulating me on my new feat and the rest on work, I finally offload some of it to breathe in peace, sip a cuppa coffee, go through my personal email account and pay my insurance premium. That is quite a good start to a back-to-work day.
Swimming amidst all the work & trying to stay afloat, the newly adorned bangles would often tinkle reminding me of my newly acquired status - The Married Woman.

That was 7 years ago.
A newly married colleague was sharing a similar account today. I overheard & couldnt stop myself pouring a detailed account of 15th Dec2005.
