Everything that Love feels

If it was divine in a rare way, should it matter if you were a second or the first choice. It shouldn't - right? Yet, it does. Why?
Doesn't it seem that the share of pain and hurt is never ending if you were the former? Or is it the situation that makes it palpable for the tears to keep flowing no matter what? In fact every time reality bites, which is more often than you'd imagine or expect, there's a melancholic sadness that wells up vehemently questioning the premise of the relationship. Although you would've known what it is to not be part of the primary relationship all along, yet, there's a natural tendency to break open at little instances. Better still, despite being aware of the entire situation, what was running on your mind when you said Yes? Or wasn't the thought catalog in its rightful place to help you decide for the better? Everlasting love it must have been, a magical feeling that sweeps it away from your feet, making you go weak in your knees, the kind that strikes the happy chords in the heart - Because that is all it takes for the heart to feel alive and enliven your spirit. Hence, unlike the head that is conditioned to think rational, matters of heart are a different ballgame.Love of this kind is an eccentric concoction of heartaches and a crescendo of ecstasies.

Irrespective of age in life, when love strikes, it leaves shaking a lot of life's premises behind. Seeking solace elsewhere seems an alternate route to keep calm and reconcile with your head. It may lead to success more often than not but those rare occasions when it fails, it tears the insides brutally. Being a second choice in a relationship stems from a lot of love and commitment but shouldn't be erred for a primary relationship. While it lends strength, nourishes the soul and makes one feel extremely special and loved, they can never  become the priority of each others' lives. Sadly, that's the moral of the story that will forever remain true across centuries and beyond boundaries.

The first choice can never be replaced by A second choice. And the sooner one reconciles to this harsh reality, the certainties of the relationship will sail longer. Easier said than done but get the heart and head to do the talking as often as you can to get them in near sync mode. The head understands heartburn whereas the heart realizes the Heartache. As varying as Chalk and Cheese!
